I will be in town for the first game. I an looking for a good pizza. The only good Pizza in Devils Lake is when I go the store and buy a Pizza Corner or Tombstone.

How is the pizza at Dempseys public house. I think I might go there and watch the cubs play.

1. Duanes House of Pizza is excellent. A tag greasy but I like it that way. 2.Sammys is good also.

For a small fee, I would be willing to ship in some Chicago style for that cubbies game :)

Dempsey's is owned by the guy who owns Bertrosa's, so I'm not sure if they have Pizza, you can order off the Bertrosa's menu there. Duane's is the best if you like thin crust, some feel it's a little greasy, but that's because they still use real cheese on it. Sammy's is really good too, they are across the street from Dempsey's. They are not cheap however, but they are delicious.

I can't believe Pizza Patrol or Slapshot haven't been mentioned yet. Pizza Patrol single handedly kept me nourished through my second year of college.

Pizza Patrol has kind of an off-setting taste to me. I'm not a fan of the cheese they use. The dough/crust is really good, but I'm more into the sides at PP, like the wings and egg rolls.

I never had SlapShot, though. The old location on 10th Street closed down.

Slapshot moved out by Happy Harrys on 45th.

Slapshot saved money by using their pizza boxes for the crust instead of dough. :banghead: At least that's what it tasted like.

How about Zorbaz?

Or is that too far away?

Heard PA & Dubay mention Zorbaz when they talked about Brainard.

Pizza Patrol was a great option at 4:00 in the morning. Problem was, we'd often be passed out by the time they got there. Eventually they just started letting themselves in and would take the money off the coffee table and leave the pizza there. Worked out great for everyone: They got paid and we had a little treat waiting for us when we finally came to!

When I was ordering from pizza patrol (back in the day), they had little jeeps they used to deliver in and the "mobile oven" - sort of like the EM-50 from Stripes - the idea was they'd get you your pizza in 15 minutes because they could drive to your house as the pizza was baking! Sweet! And the drivers wore pseudo army outfits i think - they were definitely working the military angle :D forgot about all that until now - ha ha good memories

depends on the time of day. If it's anytime between 1 am to 4:30 am nothing taste better than the campus special from Pizza Patrol with a side of cheese sticks.

You're not my old roommate, are you?

Cripes, I lost count of how many times I would be woke up at 3:00-4:00 AM by the security buzzer when I had to work that day. My roommate would be passed out on the couch with a check scribbled out to Pizza Patrol. If I didn't have to work, I'd let the pizza guy in, give him the check, and eat the pizza. :D

Those poor Pizza Patrol guys must have gotten real sick of that behaviour mode.

I'm pretty sure I'm your old roomate except we didn't have a security buzzer. I wonder how many pizzas Pizza Patrol discarded b/c the people were passed out by the time they got there and didn't pay or they couldn't get into the building.

While I'm partial to Happy Joe's taco pizza, I'd say Sammy's or Duane's if you want New York still thin crust.

For thicker crust, Happy Joe's pan pizzas are great - especially like the Sandie's Delight.

Zorbaz when Im at Pelican lake+++

Zorbaz is a weekend summer tradition for us! Very rarely does a weekend go by that the kids (or husband) don't ask at some time for Zorbaz for a meal. Right now, our 2 1/2 year old instead of saying he wants Zorbaz pizza, he says he wants pizza Zorbaz! You can go wrong with the pizza, macho nachos, or cheesebread! Since our cabin is only a few miles from the Pelican Zorbaz it is VERY convenient! :hungry:
