Hey, some of us are going east.......mainly North, but still East!!

As for Spokane and Cheney.........well break it down. Shoot create a thread with all your favorite spots for Cheney and Spokane.
Best/Cheapest
Bars
Food
Taxi
Strip Club
Hotels
Food Mart

Has Tailgaiting been covered yet??

The more involved your thread is the more likely I will buy you a beer anytime you want one!!!

Cheney:

Cheney doesn't have much in terms of...well...anything. There are a few nice bars on the main drag. Eagles Pub and Goofy's is where most of the locals hang out. Restraunts to consider are Zips (hamburger joint) and a few pizza places; Gato's and Rosa's, both have ok, but not great pizza. There are a couple of grocery stores in town and a liquor store that is open on Saturdays to get your fix. They are both right next to the entrance of town when coming from Spokane. All in one area there is Safeway, the liquor store, a mini mart, and Subway. This is probably your best bet in Cheney. There is a bus that runs between Spokane and Cheney about hourly I beleive and I posted that link already on the Travel thread.

Spokane:
Spokane is a different beast. Lots to do there.

Bars
Lots of great bars in Spokane. My favorite is right outside of Spokane in AirWay heights at the Quest Casino. It's called the Q and it boasts a 30 foot by 10 foot HD screen. It has great food and the casino offers lots of things to do. Here is a link to the casino. http://www.northernquest.com/

The Viking Tavern
(509) 326-2942
1221 N Stevens St, Spokane, WA 99201
This tavern has a great Pub feel and the food is great. Lots of beer on tap. ONe of my favorites.

Jack & Dan's Tavern
(509) 487-6546
1226 N Hamilton St, Spokane, WA 99202
This bar is on the edge of the Gonzaga campus and is run by John Stockton's father. A must visit for basketball fans.

Red Lion BBQ & Pub
(509) 835-5466
126 N Division St, Spokane, WA
Great food and bar. This is owned by local hockey player. There are about four bars right around this one to so it is a good central spot.

There are lots of bars all over Division which is on the main drag in Spokane. I have not lived in Cheney/Spokane for about four years so I am sure some others will be added to the list.

Food
There are lots of chains all over Spokane, here are some things that are a little out of the box. I am sure others will chime in too!

Dick's Hamburgers (509) 747-2481
10 E 3rd Ave, Spokane, WA
Dicks Burger is the best burgers for Cheap. It is right downtown in Spokane and a must see. If you remember Sir Mixalot "Dick's is the place where the cool hang out."

If you are hanging in airway Heights at the Casino there is a longHorn BBQ that is awesome! There is one in Spokane to.
Longhorn Barbecue
Longhorn East & Catering
(509) 924-9600
2315 N Argonne Rd, Spokane, WA

Tomato Street
(509) 484-4500

Great fun Italian place. Family style atmosphere. Food is great

Frank's Diner (509) 747-8798
1516 W 2nd Ave, Spokane, WA
The best breakfast in Spokane. Food is served in an old train car. The food is awesome and great portions. Good hangover cure.

The Onion Family Restaurants
(509) 315-3287
302 W Riverside Ave, Spokane, WA
Similar to a red robin. Good burgers and food and bar.

There are lots of Pizza places down town.

Petes Pizza Number 1

Sandwiches the size of your head right across from the bus station. Not a fancy place, but lots of great meat's and cheeses.

Taxi

Don't know anything about Taxi's but these are the ones I know I have seen

Spokane Cab

Deja Vu Showgirls
(509) 926-8567

Hotels

I don't know much about Hotels in the area. Some others will help me out. Priceline or Motels.com is your friend.

Quest Casino has a very nice resort and casino. There is a hotel called the Stratford Suites that is very close to the casino that offers a shuttle and is much cheaper. It has Suite style rooms. Two queen bed seperate rooms with a shared living room.

Holiday Inn's in Cheney and in Spokane.

Red Lions on each side of Division in Spokane

Other things to consider:
http://blog.spokanedivebars.com/
There is a dive bar party bus that is for rent somewhere in Spokane. I contacted my friend to get the info. You can load all your rowdy friends on a bus, drink on the bus, and they take you to about five or six dive bars during the course of the night. Kind of a cool thing. Not sure on the cost but I will find out for you.

I hope this helps. Like is said, its been a while and I am sure others will chime in! Thanks again for making the trip. I look forward to meeting many of you.

There is also an all women's ACDC cover band playing at the Knitting Factory in Spokane Saturday night. They are called Hell's Belle's. I've seen them a few times and they are pretty damn good if you are into that sort of thing. Sorry about the double post.

How about tailgating?

EagerEagle

Tailgating is a work in progress. It has gotten considerably better over the past few years. There is a tailgating lot above the stadium itself. There are many tents and areas set up and all are welcome. There is also a lower lot where there is usually something going on. The security is lax as long as you keep things in a keg cup. No open bottles or cans out in the open. \ We usually get up to the upper lot about 3 or so hours before game time so 8:30 - 9:00 would be a good bet. Never seem to be hassled by security though they are walking around. If anyone is bringing an RV or Bus (battlewagon) you can purchase passes for the upper tailgate area on goeags.com. If you keep an eye on our board usually people start talking about tailgate plans towards the middle of the week. Our site is pretty quiet but the diehards are there. I could only hope that someday we could live up to this message board!

I would love to say we are good hosts, but I am slowly starting to worry about how many of you are coming :D Charter flights, BattleWagons, lots of shared airfare and trains. What would happen if I ran outta beer?

Never been to Vegas, in fact, I have never really been outta Washington. Just an occasional trip to Montana and Idaho to watch my Eags play. My heart is set on Frisco soon, that is, if we can get through you. Hope you find your stay enjoyable. I will be in the upper lot on Saturday. I will be looking to meet all of you at the tailgates.

Cheney:

Great info EE - well done
You forgot about the Basement though. The Basement is a great bar in Cheney on First St (the only real main street in Cheney) It will be open at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Jason the owner caters well to football fans.

As for Spokane, there's a great downtown scene in Spokane. You won't have to travel far to find what you need.

Here's a great bar guide of downtown Spokane:
http://www.inlander.com/spokane/article-14718-bars-in-downtown-spokane.html
And if you stay in other places like the Spokane South Hill, Northside, Valley or surrounding areas - here are guides for all of those places:
http://www.inlander.com/spokane/article-14717-one-drink-to-rule-them-all.html

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but the public transit system runs several buses an hour between Spokane and Cheney ($1.25 a ride) so that's a great option for your transportation needs.

I'm looking forward to having some knowledgeable and passionate football fans in Cheney this weekend!
