Appl is a pretty cool surname - I like that they kept the original spelling, but Appleton WI is named from a person who never set foot in the state (Samuel Appleton.)

I posted something about that awhile back (maybe in the recruiting thread). His mom is from New England ND (my home town) - I don't know anything about him other than what is posted here and what his mom posted on FB about the recruiting visits they went on.

This is my first Cousins son. Mom is from New England along with most of my dad's side of the family. My grandpa started Koffler manufacturing there. His dad Played linebacker for U Mary back in the 90s and is from SD originally. Last name Appl they live in Appleton and even funnier they met at a Applebees...

As for the kid he visited all the large local fcs schools plus Wisconsin. Went to the NDSU camps all through HS so liked it here I think. Has a solid frame. Already looks like a college safety. They pack on the muscle and he will be a monster OLB!
