Wentz, Stick, Lance, and Miller... not a bad run.
Wentz, Stick, Lance, and Miller... not a bad run.
I remember when he played for the Buccaneers in 1977. It was about the time I started following NFL football, and I lived in Minot, so he was big news. He was the head coach at MSU through my middle school and high school days. My mom taught at Minot State, so we went to a few games. I got a chance to visit with him when I worked the 2014 Spring game. He had just been hired. Great career, and a championship was a great way to wrap it up.

Randy Hedberg and Chuck Rodgers (former Ramstad, Minot Ryan and NDSU player) were both drafted by Tampa Bay in 1977, Randy in the 8th round and Chuck in the 11th.

Laqua I feel like also makes a ton of sense here.
ND native, former player and coach, has recruited ND well in the past. Has done a pretty good job making the dragons relevant in the tough NSIC.
It was only Tampa Bay's second year in the league and they didn't win a game their first year.
The offensive line was bad and they gave up a record number of sacks.
Randy was the 4th string quarterback, in camp, but the first two quarterbacks got injured and Randy beat out Parnell Dickinson for the starting job.
We’ll miss randy a lot. I hope he enjoys retirement!

Can any other program say theyve had 4 Champion QBs in the NFL at the same time?

COACH BOHL: We have a great, rich tradition at North Dakota State. The school has won eight National Championships in football. And so we've got a lot of pride, not only with these guys ‑‑ and D.J. alluded to it ‑‑ Bison pride. That goes all the way back to the '60s, I believe 1965.
